BROWARD SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) is a full service public agency office and is the largest fully accredited sheriff’s office in the United States that handles 5,800 employees and with an annual operating budget of $650 million.

Broward Sheriff’s office strives to promote crime prevention and public safety and is focused on protecting its citizens. Its main program, Crime Stoppers, is a nationwide plan of action that encourages citizens to report information they may have regarding criminal activity. This started back in 1981 to help detectives in criminal investigations.

BSO extends its full-time law enforcement services in 16 Broward cities and towns and in all of its unincorporated areas that spans more than one-third of the county. It also serves the Broward County Courthouse, the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, areas of the Everglades and the county’s waterways, including Port Everglades.
